DO PARALLEL UNIVERSES EXIST

A parallel universe or alternative reality is a hypothetical or fictional self-contained separate reality coexisting with one's own. A specific group of parallel universes is called a "multiverse", although this term can also be used to describe the possible parallel universes that constitute reality. While the terms "parallel universe" and "alternative reality" are generally synonymous and can be used interchangeably in most cases, there is sometimes an additional connotation implied with the term "alternative reality" that implies that the reality is a variant of our own.

PARALLEL UNIVERSES

The term "parallel universe" is more general, without any connotations implying a relationship, or lack of relationship, with our own universe. A universe where the very laws of nature are different – for example, one in which there are no Laws of Motion – would in general count as a parallel universe but not an alternative reality. The correct quantum mechanical definition of parallel universes is "universes that are separated from each other by a single quantum event."

‌  PARALLEL UNIVERSE THEORY EXPANDED BY SCIENTISTS

‌The Parallel Universe theory has been expanded on by lots of scientists over many years. There are many different theories related to it. Heaven, Hell, Olympus, and Valhalla are all "alternative universes" different from the familiar material realm. Plato reflected deeply on the parallel realities, resulting in Platonism, in which the upper reality is perfect while the lower earthly reality is an imperfect shadow of the heavenly.‌‌

PARALLEL UNIVERSES EXPANDED BY SCIENTISTS

What is the theory of parallel universes? The multiverse theory is the idea that there is more than just our universe in the cosmos; there are lots of separate universes all that do their own things but on the grand scale of things our universe isn't really significant. Our universe might be really, really big — but finite. Or it might be infinitely big.

Both cases, says physicist Brian Greene, are possibilities, but if the latter is true, so is another posit: There are only so many ways matter can arrange itself within that infinite universe. Eventually, matter has to repeat itself and arrange itself in similar ways. So if the universe is infinitely large, it is also home to infinite parallel universes.

PARALLEL UNIVERSE THEORY

For some of us, the idea of parallel Universes spark our wildest dreams. If there are other Universes where certain events had different outcomes — where just one crucial decision went a different way — perhaps there could be some way to access them. Perhaps particles, fields, or even people could be transported from one to the other, enabling us to live in a Universe that's better, in some ways, than our own. These ideas have a foothold in theoretical physics as well, from the myriad of possible outcomes from quantum mechanics as well as ideas of the multiverse. But do they have anything to do with observable, measurable reality? Recently, a claim has surfaced asserting that we've found evidence for Parallel Universes.

TWIN OR PARALLEL UNIVERSES

The idea that there is something out there beyond the stars is incredible, even the thought that there is life even further out than we can see. It makes me wonder if the reason that we are struggling to find life in the planets close to us is because in each universe there are only a few planets which are capable of hosting life and they don’t have to be in our galaxy, and it might have been that they could have had life on them long before the earth had life because even the earth is only going to be able to be the host to life for another one billion seven hundred and fifty million years as a rough estimate, so in total it will have been habitable for five billion, five hundred and fifty million years.

WHAT DID EINSTEIN THINK OF PARALLEL UNIVERSES?‌‌  Einstein didn’t think about parallel universes at all. The idea of parallel universes is and was being investigated by scientists using Einstein’s theory of relativity, not by Einstein himself.

This is ironic since the idea of parallel universes was being presented in science fiction and fantasy. Spiritualists and mystics were also into the concept of parallel universes. Many science fiction writers started to use what little they knew of relativity to rationalize their stories. They took what they saw about Einstein in the tabloids and developed imaginary universes out of his theories.

REAL OR IMAGINED

In conclusion, The Parallel Universe Theory is relatively new and is still being worked upon but scientist's think that it is plausible. This is because it intrigues scientist's because there are worlds out there where things are happening but we can’t see them or make contact. If we were able to prove that these exist, the next step would then to see if we could find a way to make contact. As impossible as it may seem at the moment, it would be a huge step for the scientific community and for us earthlings as a species.

There is an article floating around that claims that physicists in Antarctica have found evidence for a Parallel Universe. Fact or fiction you be the judge?

THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW: How many Parallel Universes are there?     Over the past few decades, the idea that our universe could be one of many alternate universes within a giant multiverse has grown from a sci-fi fantasy into a legitimate theoretical possibility. Several theories of physics and astronomy have hypothesized the existence of a multiverse made of many parallel universes. One obvious question that arises, then, is exactly how many of these parallel universes might there be. In a new study, Stanford physicists Andrei Linde and Vitaly Vanchurin have calculated the number of all possible universes, coming up with an answer of 10^10^16.

‌

HOW MANY PARALLEL UNIVERSES EXIST

If we define "universe" as "all there is" or "all that exists," then obviously, by definition, there can be only one universe. But if we define "universe" as "all we can ever see" (no matter how large our telescopes) or "space-time regions that expand together," then many universes may indeed exist.
